We start seeing adolescent patients at the age of 15. Health risks for ages 15-25 include sexually transmitted disease, pregnancy, substance abuse, school problems and accidents. Doctor visits include risk assessments and counseling to prevent illness and death.
In addition to what has been mentioned, many “adult” diseases start out at an early age. These diseases include diabetes, high blood pressure, cholesterol problems, obesity and lung disease. These diseases are screened for and risk factors corrected. This will prevent disease later on in life.
