Total Health Home
The foundation and philosophy of Total Health Physician Group is drawn from Biblical principles in the life and ministry of Jesus and from the writings of Ellen White (“May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Thessalonians 5:23 NIV).

An avid proponent of disease prevention and whole person care, White saw the Biblical role of the physician as pastor, teacher and healer, and the complete integration of the pastoral, evangelistic and health care ministries within the Seventh-day Adventist church. Her words are a daily source of inspiration and guidance.

“We are to be one in the faith. I want to tell you that when the gospel ministers and the medical missionary workers are not united, there is placed on our churches the worst evil that can be placed there. Our medical missionaries ought to be interested in the work of our Conferences, and our Conference workers ought to be as much interested in the work of our medical missionaries.”
Loma Linda Messages, p. 59

“As the medical missionary work becomes more extended, there will be a temptation to make it independent of our conferences. But it has been presented to me that this plan is not right. The different lines of our work are but parts of one great whole. They have one center.”
Testimonies to the Church, Vol. 6, p. 235

“Our people should have an institution of their own, under their own control, for the benefit of the diseased and suffering among us who wish to have health and strength . . . conducted by Sabbath keeping physicians.”
Testimonies to the Church, Vol. 1, p. 485-494

“In every city where we have a church there is need of a place where treatment can be given. . . It is the Lord’s purpose that in every part of our world health institutions shall be established as a branch of the gospel work.”
Testimonies to the Church, Vol 6, p. 113

Never, never should a sanitarium be established to become an interest independent of the church.”
Battle Creek Letters, p. 28

“This work belongs just as surely to the doctor as to the minister. By public and private effort the physician should seek to win souls to Christ.”
Counsels on Health, p. 336

“Countless are the opportunities that a physician has for winning souls to God, for cheering the discouraged and relieving the despair that comes to the soul when the body is tortured with pain.”
Counsels on Health, p. 361

“He [the physician] will not look upon his patient as a mere piece of human mechanism, but as a soul to be saved or lost.”
Healthful Living, p. 266

“The practicing physician will instruct those who do not understand how to preserve the strength and health they already have, and how to prevent disease by a wise use of heaven's remedies -- pure water, air, and diet.”
Healthful Living, p. 269

“If you are a Christian and a competent physician, you are qualified to do tenfold more good as a missionary for God than if you were to go forth merely as a preacher of the word.”
Healthful Living, p. 270
